Centaman Entrance Control
A Go-to Entity for Customized Entrance Control Solutions

To ensure the safety of employees and customers alike, organizations need high-quality entrance control and security systems now more than ever. However, companies struggle with attaining aesthetically pleasing solutions that foster the imperative touchless culture that COVID-19 has spurred. As a supplier of pedestrian gates, turnstiles, speedgates, tailgate detection systems, man traps, and other pedestrian control devices, Centaman Entrance Control (CEC) effectively caters to all such needs. “We try to be as flexible as possible in meeting our customers’ needs, as well as understanding the full requirements. We are a boutique turnstile shop and about 80 percent of the solutions we deliver are customized in one way or another to meet the requirements,” says Michael Bystram, General Manager at CEC.

Whether it’s a speedgate, turnstile, tripod turnstile, speedstile, full height turnstile, swing gate, entry gate or fast lane door detectives, CEC has got an extensive range of turnstiles and entrance control solutions to meet its client’s unique requirements. In addition, the company’s turnstiles and access control systems can be customized to support clients’ different levels of security, freedom of movement, and aesthetic requirements. “Our main strength is supplying speedgates into corporate office applications, particularly those that need customization either for the architect to closer match the building aesthetic or for the clients to integrate 3rd party solutions into the speedgates,” says Bystram. Specifically catering to the Australian and New Zealand markets, CEC has become a renowned name known for the quality of its products and expertise.

CEC is well-versed in helping companies manage the need for contact free operation and make their facilities safe, as well as secure. Apart from the hands-free operation of the gates, the company is adding various contactless access solutions to its product portfolio. This includes EasyCount, which keeps track of the number of people entering a facility, and EasyAccess, which is a facial recognition system designed to enable fast, easy access through a turnstile. CEC’s innovative range of gates has optional add-on’s to successfully prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other diseases by reducing physical touchpoints. “As Covid-19 is going to bring serious changes to the work place and entrance control is going to be a crucial part of it, our new Keepsafe range of add ons are being developed to help meet the probable needs,” states Bystram.

“We aren’t a hard sell company instead we like to show how our solutions can meet customers’ requirements to create demand. In fact, we follow the edict of making sure that if we set a target, we achieve it,” explains Bystram. He highlights the prowess of the CEC’s products through the success story of 200 George Street, Sydney, which is the latest premium grade office tower of an Australian property group, Mirvac.

We combine practicality and security with a striking design as all our entrance control solutions are designed around the ethos of being easy for the user to use, high security whilst balancing of safety requirements

The building generally had heavy foot traffic, and it required an integrated access control system, lift destination control system, and turnstile solution to limit building access to authorized occupants and visitors. CEC’s design team worked closely with the concerned architects to accordingly develop a solution that amalgamated the concept penned by them for the turnstiles with an existing EasyGate model. As the solution needed to increase the speed of pedestrian movement into and up through the building, CEC offered EasyGate IM with 1200mm high barriers for enhanced security. The final solution incorporated a Schindler PORT access and lift destination control system integrated with Centurion EasyGate speedgates. Besides, the metalwork was finished in black to ensure that the speedgates complemented the overall design concept and enhanced the building’s striking lobby. As of today, nine lanes of customized Centurion EasyGate from CEC have been installed at 200 George Street, Sydney.

Bystram emphasizes that the company is always on the lookout for new and innovative solutions for pedestrian control. CEC grew from its parent company, a leading supplier of POS and access control software for leisure applications, and started providing their own turnstiles to reduce the hard work around dealing with local suppliers. From originally supplying gates to it software customers, CEC gradually gained traction of leisure customers and the corporate market. As an industry expert with more than 15 years of experience, CEC supplies, installs and maintains entrance control solutions to a variety of organizations, including corporate offices, government, leisure, tourist attractions, stadiums, and retail. “We combine practicality and security with a striking design as all our entrance control solutions are designed around the ethos of being easy for the user to use, high security whilst balancing of safety requirements,” concludes Bystram.
